YSR Shock! Yes it is.

I was going through the blog of Amit Varma, YSR shockhttp://indiauncut.com/iublog/article/ysr-shock/. YSR cannot be compared to MGR. The route adopted by both to achieve the fame that they have done is vastly different. YSR did not have the charm to garner votes, a la an NTR or an MGR. He waited for a very long period of time to become the CM of the state. Having been elected so, he lost no time in swinging into action and delivering on the promises made. How many CM's could lay claim to it.

I am not sure how much Amit understands the psyche of the south indian milieu. He is cynical on the number of deaths that have been reported. It must be understood that in a country where passions run deep and people with any semblance of having done good to the society are deified, it does not come as a surprise-the large number of deaths that have been reported. More so, in a state where fans dare self-immolation and dire consequences in the event of a film's failure or a news article giving out a negative review on a movie.

Swaminathan Iyer's article http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/782107.cms speaks of the rise of YSR based on money and muscle power. In an area with a legacy of violence, it is imperative for anyone who wishes to have his voice heard to resort to the same-Mahatma Gandhi could have been an exception.

I am sure that should Amit Varma travel to places in AP he would understand and appreciate the reason for such an overwhelming response from the public on YSR' s departure.
